Why intellectuals live a miserable life

Original essay

Why is it that you see most of the philosophers talking about high performance rarely act upon them and are high performers?

Philosophers tend to romanticize life in their heads and yet don't see the beauty of the world they live in.

I have read some of the works of Alan Watts, Jiddu Krishnamurti, Osho and many more. After all the reading, I found what they are doing is observing the world and making patterns out of them. I believe philosophy is great for knowledge and to have a different lens to see the world, but they don't really "help" you. You can read thousands of books but still end up confused. It's like having a courtroom inside your head.

I have spent 2 years reading books like these and took a break from them to see what difference it has made on me. That is when I realized these philosophies will not help you grow in life. Take this: do you think the people we read of, read any one of the books written by people before them? Probably no.

Then, how do we get out of this rabbit hole? Do.

Do things and explore the world that will help you achieve peace and fulfillment. Sitting at your desk and learning about life will surely make you depressed and will make this false image of achievement that is just like a mirage.
