best thing to do when you feel low
Original essayRegardless of what you do, we all have little moments in our daily life, where our minds get cluttered up with all kinds of negative thoughts. So, what do you do to get yourself out of it?
I read a lot of self-help books, and everyone seems to have a different answer to this issue. Personally, I tried every suggestion they made, but nothing was successful. Yet, there was one sentence that I found to be effective.
"Do your work."
Regardless of how you feel, do your work. The negative thinking cloud merely seems to dissipate when you exert yourself and do some task.
Zach Pogrob has a related thought to this. When you feel down or anxious — turn your body on by exercising or going out for a run. When you feel worn out or overstimulated — turn your body off, by meditating or journaling.
Understanding that emotions are a type of response tool of our brain is essential. It is not you, I repeat. If there is good, there must also be bad — this is a natural rule.
